It has been an ever increasing issue and challenge for the NFL to deal with players that are kneeling during the National Anthem. It would spell the end of the NFL if they just suspended them all at this point.
The NFL owners have been absolutely DESPERATE for a new solution to this very complex issue.
Well, instead of threatening to fire them if they quit, the Detroit Lions, owned by Martha Firestone Ford have found an EVEN better solution:
She decided to REWARD the players who RESPECTED the national anthem.
Martha Ford has now reportedly incentivized her players to stand during the national anthem by offering them donations to a charity of their choice if they STAND to respect the anthem.
Lions running back Ameer Abdullah told reporters,
“We do dance around the topic a lot and Mrs. Ford has come forward and said that as long a we compromise as a team and unify and make a unified demonstration, she’ll back us financially. So I’m definitely going to hold her to her word.”
Now, some people of course see this as nothing more than bribery. Well I don’t. I see a billionaire who LOVES America putting her money where her mouth is and DEFENDING this great country and the anthem we all love.
And the result? Well, of course, players are standing.
Now, they can do two good things at once, they can stand and honour all the countless soldiers who gave their lives to make this country great and they can support a charity.
Let’s get this out everywhere quick and see which NFL owners are willing to do what it takes to get the results.
